Services: Treadmill: Aerobic therapy at The Diagnostics Center often includes the use of a treadmill, useful in improving muscle tone throughout the body. Strengthened muscles means the heart can pump more oxygen-rich blood resulting in a healthier cardiovascular system. Walking has been found to be an excellent form of rehabilitative exercise for people with certain health conditions, such as osteoporosis, hypertension and back pain. EMS: Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) uses a therapy unit which passes an electrical current to specific muscles, via wires and electrodes that are attached superficially to the skin. EMS has proven helpful in stimulating strength in muscles that are paralyzed, weak or have experienced nerve or other damage, EMS helps prevent muscle loss (atrophy) of these specific denervated muscles. Ultrasound: Ultrasound treatment has been one of the proven forms of physical therapy for four decades. During an Ultrasound treatment, ultrasonic oscillations generate vibrations (micro massage) and heat in tissue. These gentle, massaging waves helps to alleviate pain and increase blood supply in the area of treatment. Ultrasound therapy is often used on patients with inflammatory, degenerative, internal and dermatological disorders as well as injuries resulting in decreased mobility.
